Internet of Things

The planned transportation IoT (Internet of things) sensors initiative will support several major goals of the 30-year Mobility Advancement Program, brought to you by the Transportation Surtax.  Transportation-related IoT sensors (related to non-motorized bike/pedestrian counts, rainfall/flooding conditions, air quality, and more) will allow us to evaluate real-time impacts and conditions on/near roads within Broward County.  This will help to establish a baseline of existing conditions, and to develop thresholds for future actionable road improvements. Resources will include the sensor equipment, support staff to deploy, monitor, analyze, and report the data of the IoT sensors over a 5-year period.
